Silvereyes.These guys are hanging around the garden at the moment,so I though it was a good chance to learn how to use a flash to try and bring out more detail on a cloudy wet day.

Very nice! Great catch! The OOF background is great and allows good separation of your subject and the flash is not noticeable at all. Very natural looking.

Well it looks like you got plenty of detail in these little guys. The even light on the cloudy day made for a nicely exposed image. I love the simple composition and lovely OOF background.

Good picture of Silver eyes [we have around here very similiar bird 'white eye', but not so colourfull, but it has its own beauty, sorry I do not have the picture to show].The compo, BG, DOF,POV are excellent. TFS

What a beautiful composition of these two Silvereyes. Magnificent. I like very the attitude of those two. One alert and the other in rest. I think the fill flash did a great job. POV, DOF and BG are great.

The focus is a bit on the one to the the right and less on the one to the left. That said, it is a well composed image with a matching OOF BG, etc.

Hallo Russell
Superb display of colour. Excellent camera work and a real feast to the eye. Every little detail is just great. From the fine feathers on these birds heads, right down to the paws clutching onto the branch. It is amazing how perfect the shape and patterns back feathers are, as if each one was painted by hand. This is really outstanding, and I just cannot get over the colours. The olive green, brown and grey is a perfect match and really a lovely combination. I like the position you have captured this one from the back, showing the feathers in all its glory. I did not miss the beautiful white circled eyes. Good focus and framing, presented in a delightful manner. Thanks for sharing.
