Nankeen Kestrel
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The Nankeen Kestrel (Falco cenchroides) is the common bird of prey found in Australia, inhabiting all forms of habitat except rainforest and dense wet sclerophyll forest. Like all kestrels, they hunt primarily by hovering stationary above a potential prey item, most usually facing into the wind, then dropping straight down to catch the prey with its talons. Principal prey items include small rodents, lizards and grasshoppers. |

Hi Chris.
Wonderful in-flight picture. Your POV and wingspread of the bird as well as turning of your head and glance are wonderful. I also like great composition of the shot and very impressive deep blue sky as a BG. Well done and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Chris,
An almost well-composed faultless in-flight of a Nankeen Kestrel. The lighting and POV against a clear blue sky add to the excellent technical qualities.
Thanks for this fine reminder of a species that became familar but not well photographed during our visit to NSW and Qsld.
Thanks and have a good weekend,
Ivan
Ciao Chris, great focus on wonderful flying bird, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio
