[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Roots of a giant rainforest fig tree, near North Sheperd Beach on Hinchinbrook Island. Many trees had been torn out or broken into pieces during tropical cyclone Larry which hit the coast 30 KM north of here end of March 2006 but this giant was well prepared and didn't move a millimeter, whereas most of the introduced trees on the mainland did turn to matches.

I like the unusual POV on this one, makes the roots look even bigger than they are in realty. It is really a strange tree, with strange roots. Details, colors and composition are very good. Well done !
Valérie.

Thomas , I am always fascinated by the unusual, I wonder what condition caused this tree to have such an unusual root system, broad and flat? I looks very wet and hot there, yes? Are the roots shallow?

Anyway, i like the composition ..
