A bird that I believe that it was not shown in TN, not even of his order, tinamiformes. when it is in danger first chooses to happen unnoticed in the grass, where merges well. It only flies if the danger approaches too much, and it does of a sibilant and low form.
Was taken at only 3 meters, when I descending of a pick up in a country street.

Nothura maculosa Temminck, 1815
Morphologic aspect
Deciphers by Temminck like Tinamus maculosa in 1815. Distribution: Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. The name common in Argentina is the one of common Perdíz, since the Spaniards when arriving the new world saw parecidad them the Perdices of the old world, Perdix perdix. Length between 24-26 cm.
Weight: 162-303 g (male), 164-340 g (female). Very variable coloration, with the darker superior part. Greater than minor Nothura. The main coloration is brown, with black spots that indicate the specific name of maculosa.
Habitat
the species occupies plain areas, except for submontainous Nothura maculosa that are distributed until the 2000 meters of altitude and Nothura maculosa pallida that arrives at the 2300 meters of altitude. It prefers grasps of herbs savana. In fields of cultive of soybean, rice, rarely in forests. She is omnívore, with strong herbívore and insectivorous tendency. Between the plants that coadd are of the Faboideae families, Oxalidaceae, Malvacea.

Conservation
All the tinámids are in retraction. Its habitat is destroyed constantly by agriculture. The density of population is high in fields with natural grass (10 units by hectare). But in agricultural zones it has practically disappeared.

A nice capture of this shy little bird. She is very camouflaged and blend in well to her surrounding. Nicely framed and very interesting notes.

Great capture! Sharp and nice details. It should be perfect if we can view all part of its body, but this is a nature shot, I know we cannot ask the bird to pose for us. So, for me this is an excellent shot. Congrats! and TfS.

Preciosa foto natural que muestra a la perfección cómo anida y se esconde este pájaro. Gran hallazgo el que nos has permitdo ver como si estuvieramos allí.

Si habré comido huevos de estos.... lo más rico que hay...jejeje.
Una interesante entrega Hernan, con adecuado nombre, dado el nivel de mimetismo que logran estas aves en su habitat.
Técnicamente, la imagen es agradable con buen POV, colorido e iluminación, aunque el foco es ligeramente soft.
Otra interesante entrega por su composición y las notas complementarias.

Cette espèce est inconnue ici en Amérique du Nord.
La photo est très réussie et nous pouvons apprécier le mimétisme de cet oiseau, les détails de son plumage. Votre note est des plus intéressante.
