A stranger hoverfly of green color... that until now never I had seen it.

I have not either been able to identify it... its form was typical of the smallest species with the flattened and curved body, typical of the Syrphidae family, reduced large (approx 10mm.) and the basic characteristics of its green color with some brown drawings.

If somebody knows its identification or can contribute some data on the same one, will be well received.

I may be able to to help you out here. We have a very similar looking fly that is yellow and black. I don't have my books on me so you will have to wait until later.

Great shot Ricardo, excellent details and DOF very well directed for such a small beastie.

Ricardo, Nice shiny wings & excellent composition with opposing 45 degree angles combined with superb detail on one so small! Well done!

Nice capture of this strange fly Ricardo. Well presented on a double diagonal. The wing is a tad bright but it's a minor nit. Great shot.

Very good Ricardo.
Where do you find all your strange flies.
Good sharpness and DOF and good compostion.
Very well done.

Nice one Ricardo good sharp image colours good too, a touch of infill flash would light the face and near side a bit more which would of brought out more details now hidden by the strong sun made shadows.

Great shot It's the first time I see this fly, so unfortunatly I can't help you.
Maybe you'll find some infos at : http://strano16.interfree.it/insects.htm

The greens and browns pf the insect and the leaf match prfectly. Good detail and sharp image.

Back after a computer crash, I went to the forum and I saw unpleasant things. I'm very glad you don't let us alone.
I like this shot cause I saw similar hoverfly very often, but never a green one like this.
Great composition and sharpness.
Good job.

I think, it's not very easy to find this overfly, the insect color is the same as the sheet, Very good shot

OK now I have seen it all. A grass green hoverfly! This is a first for me and you captured it very well. The sharpness and color is excellent.

Thanks for posting

Hola Ricardo,
Realmente es una extraña mosca verde, nunca vi una de estas.
Muy buena la definición y la composición, toda en verde.
Saludos
Hernán

I know which family this belongs to. Its a soldierfly and they are the large Brachycera, its family should be Stratiomydae and may be Chorisops/ Beris genera but the photo can't show all the features and it is outside my knowledge south America.
Its also female (eyes wide apart) and it looks like an English Oxycera but there appears to be spines on its scutellum.

Nice photo next time get one looking straight down ie a vertical shot too that will help in identification.
