Chauna torquata
Vulgar name: Chajá (Argentina), Screamer (English).

It is a bird filogenetically related to ducks, geese and swans, but it differs enough in his anatomy with them. Its bill is pointed and hooky. Although they inhabit zones of pools and marshes, rare time put to the water because its plumage to differences of the ducks does not maintain it dry. Their legs are wide and robust, which confers advantages to him when walking on the aquatic vegetation. They feeds on grass and crawling leaves and plants. Hola Hernán,
Vaya extraña apariencia la de esta ave!
Pareciera como todo un muy elaborado traje, con el ornamento en el cuello y el tocado en la cabeza.
Funcionó muy bien el flash de relleno para obtener esos claros detalles, en particular del ojo y el impresionante color rojizo que lo rodea.
El intenso verde del fondo crea un excelente contraste.
Enhorabuena y gracias por compartir la foto.

I like your superb RP. I did seen the original shot earlier. It is amazing. Very cute bird, so attractive its pose, nice colour pattern, very good details and sharpness. But the key point I superb framing and cropping. Bravo and TFS.
