Big Argentinean Toad (Bufo arenarum)

It belongs to the Bufonidae family.

It is the toad commonest in Argentina.

Although poison possessor in his granular skin, is totally inoffensive and rather useful by the amount of insects that destroys.

It lives in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Bolivia.

It reaches the 12 centimeters in length and around 170 grams of weight.

Granular as he is usual, the parotid glands have a form of comma with the extremity sharpened backwards and the end shells more in several nodules until losing itself between the granulous in general.

The male, of minor so large, although more muscular, is of dark a greenish or green tone gray by above.

The female presents oceladas spots, clearer, than they can be accentuated or disappear to the spell of diverse environmental conditions.

Underneath both have a dirty off-white tone.

One hides in caves that he himself digging.

One reproduces in temp lagoons, ditches and temporary puddles.

A stunning image Ricardo the dtail in the skin is amazing and the flash is very well controled, very few hightlights from it those that are there do not upset the image at all. Nice one.

I like amphibians, especially frogs. This one looks really great, Ricardo. I like colours and textures of its skin. Very good sharpness.

I find frogs difficult to capture. There is always some reflection. You managed this well and the detail is excellent.

Hace rato vi este enorme sapo y me pareció maravilloso, por los detalles nítidos, colores naturales y el débil brillo.
Muy bien retratado con excelente uso del flash.
Gracias a la búsqueda de unas fotos y entre las cuales elegí una de estas para bajar (solo uso propio), para algo realmente insólito,descubrí TN; luego si querés te cuento.

Magnifico retrato de este feo sapo, muy buenos detalles,color y nitidez, quizas le falto algo de contraste, pero aun asi es una excelente toma y nocturna que no es nada facil, la nota muy buena.
