Quizás no es una gran foto, pero quiero compartir con ustedes esta especie; es una avispa (Polybia sp) conocida vulgarmente en Argentina como camoatí o camuatí. Construyen panales bastante grandes donde almacenan su miel. Su picdura es dolorosa aunque no tanto, lo digo por experiencia porque me atacaron algunas, por suerte me picó una el resto se enredó en el pelo. En workshop voy a subir como lucía la colmena y como estaban afuera en gran cantidad. Por lo general los días fríos estan dentro y cuando hace calor se agrupan en la superficie de su casa.

Des guêpes très spéciales et qui ne ressemblent pas aux nôtres! Elles ont l'air bien gentilles ici sur cette image. Intéressantes aussi tes photos du workshop. La forme du nid est vraiment très particulière.

Hi Hernan

A nice sharp capture of these interesting wasps with the yellow coloured backs. I can't recall seeing these insects before though. The honeycomb actually made for a good BG for the shot. The 2 workshop photos is super to add to the thorough presentation of these insects and their natural environment. Wow, that is a massive honeycomb.
