I discovered this little Golden Crested Woodpecker(Colaptes melanochloros melanolaimus)during a trip to an Argentine ranch called "Estancia el Mirador".
This species spends more time in trees than its closest cousin, the Campo Flicker (Colaptes Campestris). That is the reason why i could not take a better picture (without noise) of this little one, which remained in the tree the whole afternoon. |
