Taken several days after my first posting of the Comet McNaught the sunset had faded away and more stars had come out when I captured this shot. During the shot I also caught a small meteor as it disintegrated in a strict of light in the upper atmosphere.
Post processing included a slight removal of movement blur from the stars and noise reduction. |

Hello Dean
Wow, Comet McNaught is really spectacular in the southern hemisphere. Your shot shows of the comet nicely but it's a bit noisy.

great capture. could stand some more noise removal. were you tracking the comet during the exposure? if not then a bit more motion removal on the stars would also be good in my opinion.
Nice shot... this could be quite useful for astronomy presentations where one is required to explain the difference between a comet and a meteor :)
... as regards to the photo it does have a bit of too much grain. I guess mainly due to high ISO...
parabéns pela ótima foto, raríssima!
