| This is a Patagonian(or Argentinian grey) fox, Pseudalopex griseus.. During a picnic here, on the Valdez Peninsula, several approached my daughter to within several feet, seemingly unafraid of humans, and begged her for food. She gave them a couple of chicken legs, and, in return, they gave her a look that seem to say "Ha, look who just stole the goose"! |

Hi Micheal,
great story and a nice pose by the fox.
It's a shame that he's not in focus and his front feet are missing.
However the shot shows his colouring beautifully.

Hi Michael
Just as a matter of interest. I see this is also called the Grey zorro - Pseudalopex griseus and it is actually a socalled "false fox" which apparently is closer related to the wild dogs than the foxes.
It's a bit of a snapshot, but it is 1 of only 3 photos of this species on TrekNature so I added it to my "RARE or SIGNIFICANT contributions to TN" theme.
Regards
