I´ve found this flower during a trekking this summer. I haven´t meet one before, so I went to my books and try to identify it. I think this is a Perezia fonkii, but i´m not so sure. If some has another information, please help me!!
The flower was near a stream of water, in the middle of the forest. There is not many sun over this place, but enough to see lots of flowers growing up.
I Hope you like it!

Family: Asteraceae (compositae)
Cientific Name: Perezia fonkii (Phil.) Reiche
Common name: Perezía de las rocas, perezia de fonk

Perennial herb up to 30cm, rhizomatose. Basal in rosette, oblong-oblanceolate, deeply pinnatisect, 6 to 12cm, more or less glandular-pubescent leaves. Solitary apical heads. Involucre 15 to 18 mm; involucral bracts in 3-4 series, obling-lanceolate, toothed. Bilabiate flowers, blue, the marginal with lip 10 to 12 mm long. Achenes with greyish pappus.

Habitat and distribution: in high elevation rock fields, often in crevices. Mountains of western Neuquén and Rio Negro, in Argentina, and bordering regions of Chile.

Obs.: very similar to Perezia pedicularifolia, from which it differs by the sticky texture and the denticulate bracts wich are not deeply indented. P. lyrata is another close species that idffers because of its thick heads with wide involucral bracts. Flowering in summer. The epithet fonkii honors Fonk, a Chilean naturalist.

Hola Brenda,
Una linda foto de una bellísima flor. Tal vez algo "soft" en contraste y definición, tal vez por haberla tomado en condiciones de luz suave o en sombra.
Saludos
Hernán
