This Southern lapwing is really furious. That spurs are dangerous and for good reason that you just took 2 pictures. Beautiful action picture. Very well done and tfs.

Hi Hernan, It is a very interesting photo, especially with the wings fully extended, itis a very attractive bird and the light is not too bad as you can see all of the details or the bird including head markings and eye contact. You have good colour tones and it is sharp enough. I love the story and am glad that they are doing well. Great POV and composition.

Actually I think this is a great photo showing how dedicated a parent animal is willing to protect its young from possible predators. This is also an excellent photo that displays its wing spurs. :)

Still doing great work with your little Kodak and the more reason to admire your results.

The bird is striking a real aggressive pose and it looks like it was sizing you up while giving you a fair share of its thoughts verbally in typical lapwing style. It certainly seems like this bird could tear you clothes with those vicious looking spurs on its wings. These birds are so brave (or maybe they're just plain stupid) that they would even try to stop a 10 ton truck from coming near their nests, but unfortunately we know who will win that clash. Although, it says a lot about their parental instincts. You did well to shoot your photos and then left the birds in peace so as not to disturb them unduly.

I like the simplicity of the shot with only the bird and its habitat (the grass) where it was taking care of its eggs. The colours and the contrasts were well captured and defined while the details show quite sufficient sharpness.

Y más que interesante, desconocía que existiesen aves de este tipo con espolones en las alas, el momento genial, hay que tener valor uno de frente y el otro haciendo vuelos rasantes, pues a pesar de estos inconvenientes la toma te salió fenomenal. Un cordial saludo

Difícil captura Hernan... me he cruzado un par de veces con estos bichos y no son fáciles de retratar sobre todo cuando están a la defensiva como se aprecia aquí.
Me gusta el punto de vista que captaste con los espolones bien visibles y las alas bien bajas.
Los colores se perciben algo pálidos (imagino que por la escasa iluminación disponible) y el foco ligeramente soft para mi gusto (posiblemente también por la velocidad baja que debiste utilizar).
De todas formas, es una excelente escena por mostrar a esta maravillosa ave en tan espectacular pose.
Hice un Workshop rápidamente busncando una alternativa al original, espero sea de tu agrado.
