Another species of Hoverfly that lamentably was not possible to identify it with exactitude by lack of information.

In this case, a sequence with a version LP in the plenary process of cleaning of its wings.

Surely, as the capture were made early in the morning, she was preparing herself to begin her daily activity.

Even, she allowed almost without disadvantages that approached me 5 cm. of the same one.

Family Syrphidae

Adults of Syrphidae, commonly calls flies of flowers or hoverflies, is quite showy flies.
Its length varies from 4 mm to more than 25 mm and its coloration goes from orange yellow or brilliants to black or dark and opaque grays, being some species of iridescent colors.
The Syrphidae is abundant almost anywhere, except in the barren parts of the Old World and in the Antarctic region.
In the world 5400 species in three subfamilies are known, Microdontinae, Syrphinae and Eristaliinae.

The Hoverflies are of great economic importance. The adults are pollinate of great relevance.
In the cultivation of the field they can play the role of the bees.
The larvae of the subfamily Syrphinae are very important predators of many plagues such as aphids, grudges, trips and larvae of butterflies, and are only comparable with the ladybird (Coccinellidae) and Chrysipodae like predators of importance for the biological control.

Nevertheless some Syrphids are detrimental. The larvae of some species of the sorts Merodon and Eumerus attack bulbs and tubercles of ornamental plants and vegetables.
Some species have been reported like causes of accidental myasis in humans.

Great trio Ricardo, I have no idea what this hoverfly is although it's abdomen looks like some Eristalis species. Each shot in the set is very good. A good note too.

Fantastica serie Ricardo, el detalle es bueno y el nivel igual en las tres fotos. Me estaba pensando publicar mi primera "hover" pero creo que seguiré con mis setas...

Technically very good and educative. I like it!

Superb shots Ricardo. It shows the details crystal clear. Your posts are consistently good but what I like best is you have critters over there no one has seen or can ID. Sharing that which we have not seen is fabulous on TN.

Nice serie perhaps there is a bit loss a detail due to over-illumination on the left. Thx for detailling action.

Hello Ricardo!
This is a very nice compilation of three pictures to show an interesting kind of behaviour. Very good and interesting idea! I really like this presentation.
The DOF is good - all important details are seen. Also contrast and sharpness are very good, and the note about Syrphidae is very informative.
TFS and best greetings,
Radomir
