The Jumping Spider of the image did not surpass 5mm. of size... really after many attempts to capture a clear image of this species, I obtained this shot that I create has his was worth.

In order to realize its dimension, the spider is on a set of immature Flowers of Lantana, which do not surpass the 5 to 7 mm when they are totally mature.

Jumping spiders (Salticidae) are easily distinguished from other spiders by their four big eyes on the face and four smaller eyes on top of the head.
Around the world there are probably more than 5000 species of jumping spiders.
Jumping spiders are charming spiders that look up and watch you. Their excellent vision allows them to hunt much as do cats, spotting prey from long distances, creeping up then pouncing using their jumping ability.
Although a jumping spider can jump more than fifty times its body length, none of its legs has enlarged muscles.
The power for jumping probably comes from a quick contraction of muscles in the front part of the body increasing the blood pressure, which causes the legs to extend rapidly much as in the toy frogs that hop when you squeeze a bulb.

Their vision also allows communications by visual means, such as the elaborate courtship dances that males perform.

Salticids are perhaps as old and diverse as mammals, though not many humans know their world. Many salticids are colorful, they take on a variety of body forms, and some have disguises, looking like ants and other organisms.
The bright colors and elaborate forms of some jumping spider species are involved in courtship.

Very good my friend.
The flowers looks like candies.
Nice colours , great details and good compostion.
Good note.

Ricardo, These very small jumpers present a high degree of difficulty. I think you've done very well here not only in the jumper but with the color & details seen in the Lantana. They usually don't stay still long enough to shoot! Great job here!!

Everything in this shot is furry - the flower and the spider.

The sharpness and detail is excellent, the DOF is superb.

Thanks for posting

f/4, 1/320 seconds. You made an excellent work for this one Ricardo. I tryed and tryed again on 5mm subjects: only bad results. I will try your 'f/4, 1/320 seconds' when I will have occasion.
You are really at the border between macro and micro. A step moreover and you tombs in the subatomic world :)...

The flower captures my attention as much as the spider Ricardo. Great macro for such a small subject. Fantastic note as always.
