Maybe they saw the papprazzi coming and tried to hide their faces from the camera. The fill flash exposure was perfect here. The colors and detail in this are just amazing. Great DOF has it all looking very sharp with great intricate detail being visable. Nice one!

Una gran foto y un macrazo, la pena es que no esten los bichos completos. Pero tampoco es que importe ya que el momento es muy bueno. (es que no los dejamos a los pobres nada de intimidad).

Very nice pattern the two entwined bodies makes in the frame. The contrasting colors adding to the shape. Nice DOF and details. Somehow I still wish I could see there ashamed faces. :)

Hola Ricardo, que colores tan bonitos y llamativos de estos insectos copulando. Pena que hubieran salido sin cabeza. Creo que una abertura mas pequeña del obturador quitaria un poco el brillo de las hojas. De todas formas uma excelente toma. Felicidades!!!

Es muy dificil en fotos de este tipo ajustar la luz, o el flash en este caso, para conseguir buena definicion en el insecto y que no salga excesivamente expuesta la planta. A mi me pasa siempre, los pequeños pelitos reflejan mucho la luz.
En este caso el control es bueno, quizas un ajuste por debajo en la intensidad del flash no le hubiera caido mal tampoco, pero el detalle en los bichos merece la pena. Mira que esconder las cabecitas, aunque no es la parte mas importante en este caso :D

Hi Ricardo

Missing in action I see. I sincerely hope you are merely enjoying a vacation or something as pleasurable and that it is not due to any adverse reason that we do not see you around TN for the moment MF.

It looks like these bugs where caught out doing something they shouldn't have done and now they were trying to hide there faces from the camera. However, the private dick (investigator) has done his penetrating and in depth exploration or examination into the affair of these wild and unfaithful merry makers, so now he has captured the evidence on photo as proof of their infidelity (chuckle).

The fill-in flash was well utilised with excellent results to enhance the exposure, to brighten up the stunning colours, and to reveal all that amazing details on the insects and the sparkling textures on the flower bud and leaves. The DOF was spot since it ensured that the subjects were well within the focal range while the BG was rendered totally OOF and non-distractive. The POV are very interesting as it seems like you manoeuvred the camera right into the flower.
