I took this photo in my house garden . When seeing it of distant spot I thought about a bee, but observing differences in the flight, antennas, eyes and abdomen, realized that was a dípter (flowers fly , in this case). They used similarity with the bees to move away possible predators.
I used the lens Helios 58 mm in front of my camera.

In Biology, phenomenon that consists of which an organism looks itself like another one, with which does not keep relation, and obtains from it some functional advantage. The object of the mimicry is to deceive the senses of the animals, inducing in them a certain conduct. The known cases more affect the visual perception, but also there are examples of auditory, olfactory or tactile mimicry.

Biologist H. Bates observed that sometimes an inoffensive species was resembled another dangerous or repugnant one and that with this was able to elude the action of the predators. Batesian mimicry is called this phenomenon. He is the one that we observed, for example, in the case of the flies (of the families Syrphidae and Bombilidae) whose aspect emulates the one of bees and wasps.

Excelente macro Hernan... mucho más conociendo las condiciones de tus capturas.
Me encanta el POV y el encuadre que elegiste con una suave diagonal, permitiendo ver muchos detalles del insecto incluyendo sus delicadas alas.
La intensa iluminación beneficia su visión excepto en su cabeza, donde lamentablemente es casi imposible evitar el reflejo en sus grandes ojos.
Perfecto OOF sobre el fondo realzando la silueta de la mosca.
Bravo... si señor.

Great sharpness and a perfect composition. I like a lot the note because I was not aware of this creature before. The light and the diagonal placement are just perfect.
