[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Travelling through the vast Bolivian altiplano from Uyuni on the way to Chile we encountered this amazing dust devil,we sat there quietly watching it for awhile then it started heading towards us, we took a quick photo and quickly retreated.

Amazing picture Gil. Scenery is like from Tales of 1000 and 1 nights. Great contrast between blue sky and sandy desert. Dust devil is superb - I've never saw before such thing.

Hi Gil and welcome to TN!
Good capture of this interesting phenomenon.
And - the Salar and the surrounding area belongs to Potosi department.

Gil
The picture gives good idea of the scale of things: the dust devil and the vast open desert. The picture lets me to place myself in the scene. Very well done.

This is impressive, Gil. I suppose it is thrilling to see how this sand column moves in the air and on the ground. Not usual in most countries, so thanks to show it so clearly. Very well done.
