This Gulf fritillary caterpillar (Agraulis vanillae) was found in my Passion Fruit plant -also called MARACUYA- (Passiflora edulis / P. edulis flavicarpaz) at home.

It was amazing to take this series photos, you will see how this little and astute caterpillar (approx.: 4cm) can do terrible things in a flower, and then, become in a beautiful butterfly.

Hugs,
Alejandro

Incredible array of spikey protrusions on this catapillar. Enough to scare off any predator.
Nice composition and presentation.

Nice shot Alejandro. Good detail and sharpness, (ouch) ;-) I've shot these b-flies..never seen their caterpillar stage.
Well done & Thank You!

What a beautiful and impressive caterpilar that you have well captured! Perhaps more space above the prickly insect... I also appreciate the complementary note. Congratulations Alejandro and thanks for sharing.

Hello Alejandro,
The crop format that you have chosen emphasizes the length of this really cool looking caterpillar making it appear longer which is very effective. Well done. Paul :)

Gracias.
Saludos, Felipe.
