Hi Alejandro ! (Sorry for the long comment)

Your picture has a lot of potential. Sharpness is pretty good and exposure quite good also. The difficulties here is the high contrast. Some of the highlight are OE (over exposed) while some shadows are deep, but not to the extrem. Digital camera have a setting to control contrast and reduce it when necessary.

Looking at your series all taken on 2005-11-11, we can say that you took them all at the same time. It also seems you decided to work without flash and it is a choice we can respect since it looks more natural. Howerver, this generated two problems that you can avoid in the future.

To reduce contrast, since the subject is very small you can use a white piece of cardbord to reflect back some light in the shadows (cardboard covered with shrink aluminum foil is even more effective).

I may be wrong but noise is different in each picture taken the same day. To me it look like your ISO setting was set on AUTO and depending on light level, it was switching from low to high ISO value, generatign low to high noise. To control noise, I would recommend to set manual ISO to a low value. It will generate low shutter speed, but here you are lucky since the FZ-30 has an image stabilisation system. You may also decide to use high ISO and stay with some noise. Remember

NOISE AND GRAIN ARE NOT BAD, IT IS JUST DIFFERENT.
And could be part of your artistic vision.

To make it a short strory, use reflectors to reduce contrast when you work without flash. And adjust low manual ISO setting if you want to minimize noise.

Finally I admire the idea of making series. It demonstrate that you want to explore all the potential of your subject.
TFS.

Hi Alejandro,
Excellent capture, good sharp detail and colours. Great POV.
Nicely composed and good exposure. The BG is a bit grainy, you could remove this using neat image, which is a useful tool to have.
Thanks for posting, have a great week.

hola Alejandro
Esta foto esta la mejor de tus fotos de la serie. No que las otras no sean buenas, pero solamente que aca la " caterpillar " aparece por completo sendo el objecto principal de la foto.
Bueno DOF y POV, y composicion.
abrazos
Taba
