White-faced Whistling-Duck (Family: Anatidae, Species: Dendrocygna viduata) - Length: 41 to 46 cm. This bird is found locally throughout Brazil, in ponds surrounded by rushes, marshes and flooded fields. It gathers in small groups on the ground during the day, becoming more active around sunset. When frightened, it flies up and circles above the spot where it was before, emitting continuous, whistling cries. It nests in marshy areas or in tree hollows, laying as many as nine eggs at a time. Its Brazilian names are irerê, marreca-piadeira, assobiadeira, chega-e-vira, marreca-viúva and viuvinha, among other names.

Hi Marcio,
Sharp and detailed showing all the colours of this bird. The beak shows of nicely against the brownish back. The green BG contrasts the duck very well.
