Hi Paulo
As you suspected this is no Ferret. What you have here is a Honey badger - Mellivora capensis. In Afrikaans we call it a "Ratel" which basically refers to its toughness. I have seen a cobra bite this guy; he went to sleep for about 3 hours, woke up and carried on as if nothing ever happened. It would be real swell if you can post a full bodied shot of this animal (sometime) as there are really very little good photos of Ratels on the web and only one other photo on TN.
Your composition is good and the colours are very natural. DOF is fine and it shows nice details in the facial area. The exposure might be a little dark though, but it is clearly a very difficult task with the great contrast between the black and white.
Very well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Olá Paulo,
que animal bonito! Eu não conhecia. Boa nitidez e cores. O "frame" ficou muito adequado, também. Parabéns!
Jairo

Hello Paulo...
Nice composition, its like he's popping into the frame to say "hello"..!
Good colours and details, the fur contrast makes him very photogenic...
Regards,
Pablo -

Ah, so it is a Honey badger - I did wonder what it was. Thanks Loot.
Well composed Paulo, the black is a bit overdone, but the rest of the Badger looks good. Well done, Thank you
Janice

Hello Paulo, good shot. Very cute looking creature. I think it is a little bit undeexposed but a good capture all the same, well done.
