| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Paepalanthus - This is a member of the family Eriocaulaceae (no relationship with Bromeliads), typical from rupestris fields of tropical mountains (brazilian savannah). It lives on shallow white sand (not beach sand, it doesn´t stand salt) and rocks. This group of plants is related to the bromeliads, and is built on a similar scheme as the carnivores - that is, leaves are arranged in a basal rosette around a central cistern. |
