The Chestnut-eared Aracari, Pteroglossus castanotis with one its favorite nuts. (I forgot the name). `Their bills evolved in such a way that those birds are able to break the hard nut shells and extract their staple food.

The distance to the bird was to far for a really good sharp photo, but I don’t want to deny you this colorful bird.

It is a native bird to central and southeast South America of the Ramphastidae family, the toucans, toucanets, barbets, aracaris, etc. Although it resembles the Black-necked Aracari, it is a larger, more colorful bird.
The range of the Chestnut-eared Aracari is the southern Amazon Basin, especially the southwestern Basin, also the Andean foothills; a narrowing range extension enters central-southern Colombia by 900 km.
The southern Amazon Basin range narrows in the southeast to only the upstream half-headwaters of the north-flowing Amazon River tributaries; this range countinues southeastwards into the central and southern Cerrado and ends at eastern Paraguay, southeastern Brazil and the extreme northeast of Argentina.
It is 43 cm. Bill black with red base and orange streak along upper mandible. Chestnut cheeks, throat and nape. Red band across lower breast.
Voice: a penetrating PSEEa, psi, chuhrik.
