The Bromelia balansae (Caraguatá) easily is found in diverse Pantanais of Mato Grosso do Sul in places of difficult flooding. It belongs to the same diverse family of the pineapple. Many times are used for the creators as hedge row to contain the cattle to pass. The underbrush are used frequent by armadillos, lizards and snakes, that find shelter and protection there.
