[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps is a well known species in aquaristic hobby. it is not breed in captivity, but widely produced at fish farms in Florida and Texas. In Texas this catfish are announced as an invader, it is reproduced in the rivers, burrowing deep holes in banks. This catfish can survive for some time even without water, so it easily go over the dry season.

in Brazil this fish have no natural predators, except of Amazon otters. even piranha can't eat this fish, because its body is covered with strong bony shield, the family of Loricariidae is known in vernacular as suckermouth armoured catfishes. local people consume this fishes frying them in whole and eating the flesh from their shield. Orange big eggs of this fishes also is very tasty.

Hi Igor,
Catfish is a cute fish! Not just its skin is beautiful but it's hard and bite-resistant. Great details, perfect focus and exposure and a very nice pose.
TFS, José M.

Hi Igor.
Excellent picture. Very nice rich colours and perfect sharpness of the image. Framing and composition are very good too. May be it would be better to show the tail of the fish. However, picture is excellent. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Igor!
I almost overlooked this picture :)
Very interesting species and nice quality of photo (even if it is seen that photo was taken through the glass :> - but on the other hand it is very often the only way!). I like colouration and nice DOF. Note is also informative.
Greetings,
Radomir
