This rock is situated next a small town Upanema (equidistant 70 Km from Mossoró and 280 Km from Natal), located in the high hinterland west of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil’s Northeast State . This region’s climate is very hot and dry like a desert. When I saw this rock, I said: its likes a lion, so I’ve called it by The seated Lion.
