Hello Gerson,
In fact it's not mosquito but a chironomid fly - a non-biting midge. Larvae also live in the water but the adults do not suck blood. Some species feed on flowers but other have reduced mouthparts and do not feed at all...

Hi Gerson,
Superb macro shot. Great sharpness and very fine details. DoF is also nice. I am not an entomologist, so I will not comment on ID of this insect [I just know that this is an insect since it has six legs], but surely I like this sharp image.

Excellent macro of this chironomid fly. Judging by the feathered antennae, this looks like a male.
This shot is sharp and the fly is contrasted well against the green BG.

I like a lot your composition here, with the insect standing on that leaf like an exhibition plataform to admire it.
Great the DOF, it merges the same leaf of the close up with the bakground so soft...

Hello Gerson,

You are presenting us a banal mosquito which doesn't look so banal! Details are awesome and the green is wonderful... I should have kept more space to the left in order to have the front legs all within the picture. Great pov and dof. The only nit is that you left no note about your capture... Maybe next time? TFS this great picture!
