[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Savacu (in Brazil) or Black-crowned Night Heron - Nycticorax nycticorax. This is the clumsy member of the Heron (Ardeidae) family. He is not as elegant as his cousins herons and egrets, he has short legs, makes an ugly sound like a crow or a frog. But I do think they are lovely birds. They have crepuscular habits and can be found feeding at night, so night herons. The breeding habitat is fresh and salt-water wetlands throughout much of the world.
