Hi.
The big white space in front of your canaries does not help in the way that it distracts the eye from the subject, which here is the canaries.
If you had zoomed in on the canary in the middle that is making eye contact with you, that would be the image.
Have another try with different compositions, once you start looking for compositions to give impact to your photos you will enjoy your photography more than just up point and shoot.
