I don’t remember anymore what I was looking for on Google, but what I won’t forget are the images that came to me through the search: they were images by Ricardo Palonsky (www.treknature.com/members/RAP/). Till then, I had never heard about TrekNature, and the photos by him were the first ones I checked on this webpage. As I was looking at the images, I thought to myself: “Hey, I want to take pictures like these”. A few months later, I bought a Canon Powershot Pro1 – and I bought this camera because this was the one Ricardo used (and still uses).

Today, I’m really enthusiastic about shooting nature. Through this webpage, I learn a lot whenever I come here, and everybody can be sure I’m really thankful for everything.

This image should be dedicated to all of you, but if I send this to Ricardo, that’s to celebrate his return to TrekNature. And also because he was the first one to inspire me towards shooting wildlife.

Thank you, Ricardo.

I often see this species around here, but I don’t know its identification. It’s landed on a tree it often visits to get its food. The picture was taken on a sunny day, late in the afternoon.

Hi Livio,
You have contributed many great images here. This one is an excellent shot. Nice clean composition with a great blue sky backround. Exposure and colors look great. Nice sharp detail in this colorful fellow. Well done!
Scott

Hi Livio,

Very nice capture of this Tropical Kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus) especially on the blue background. I guess I'll just have to be jealous of your dedication to somebody else. ;)

Hi Livio, I've missed you lately!

What a cute little fellow, and he looks so good against that blue, blue Brazilian sky. I love his yellow colurings and that grey mask that seems to go from his beak back through his eyes. Good capture.

I would have cropped off more from the branch on the right, so he wasn't so centred. That is one of the points you and many other helpful 'oldies' of TN taught me!

Cheers friend, and good to see you,
Kia ora

Hi Livio,

Yoy captured indeed the Tropical Kingbird. I saw this bird a lot during my stay in Tobago. You got him well and the blue sky as background fits the bird.
TFS.

regards,
Zeno.

Hi Livio,
It's wonderful to see a post from you again.
A lovely capture and a lovely dedication.
Thanks for posting, have a great week.

Livio
I agree with guys about your bird, this is Tropical Kingbird. I have seen them in Central America (Guatemala & Belize) they are really small bird and not easy to photograph. You did nice work here. In my opinion I will crop tighter making in vertical format. TFS

Hello Livio , This shot is very nice ,well taken shot good in pov and very fine details colours and nice blue bg good job , Greetings Teunie .

Hola Livio,

Hello Livio,
I am happy to see you back too. : )
I have missed you for the past few months.
A new species for me, so thanks for the introduction.
The colors on the body reminded me of your famous "bem-te-vi", but I could see that the head was different.
Excellent capture with details that are sharp and well exposed, and well shown against the great blue sky. Good POV also. Wish you could have zoomed in and made the bird bigger.
In any case, it is great to see you. TFS. : )

Hello Livio,
Very nice. I like the warm color of the afternoon light here.. Sharp and detailed, great pose, DOF, & POV. Well composed.
Nice words mf & they remind me of how the bug bit me..back then. Random search can be a good thing :)
Very well done.
