Hello Peter,
This must be a new species on TN!
Though the shot is bit OOF and suffers from over-sharpeneing, if one looks at not too close to the screen, the whole image looks quite good. The composition and POV are excellent, and this Planalto Woodcreeper stands out well against the contrasting OOF BG.
Thanks for sharing this one,
Ivan

Hi Peter,
Congratulations on finding a new bird!! That doesn't happen very often. If the quality was as bad as you say you did a great editing job. This woodpecker must be hard to spot - he is camouflaged well. You caught him a great pose and the colors and details are fine. Thanks for sharing this.

Congratulations on showing us a brand new bird on TN :D
Yes it is slightly over sharpened and OOF yet the basis of the image is fantastic!
Great composition and POV.
Well done Peter!
Thanks,

Hi Peter
What an unusual bird and he looks like he blends in with the trees well. You mention that the quality isn't as good as your usual shots which would be due to the low shutter speed. I suspect the light was poor where you were shooting. I'm glad you posted it as I haven't seen one of these before. DOF, POV and composition are all excellent.

Hello Peter,
What a great species, this is well worth a posting even with its short comings. Thanks Peter.

Hi Peter,
What an unusual bird! We have similar specie here but I never could manage a good shot as they are always on the move. This is a beautiful composition and even if the shutter speed you used seems a little slow, we still can admire nice patterns on its plumage. Thanks,
Claudine

Hi Peter.
I like your very impressive close-up picture. The trunk and bird are reproduced very well. The are supplemented by nice deep dark green and smooth BG excellently. Composition and cropping of the shot are perfect too. My compliments and best wishes.
Alexei.

Hello Peter
The composition is very good, and you managed to eke out a very good documentation shot to post.
The lighting and colours are well handled.
The bird is well seen with good detail, but I agree with Ivan that perhaps it is over-sharpened.
Well done getting a "new one".
You always seem to be able to post unique and interesting avian shots.
