“A sumaúma habita os trópicos americanos, irmã da paineira. Não só encontrada na Amazônia, também no Paraguai, na Bolívia, no México, na América Central, na Venezuela. Sempre nas baixadas, pés de serra.

Sumaúma na Flona do Tapajós no Pará
mais de 28 pessoas para abraça-la.
Ela tem a característica de ficar por cima da tudo. O tamboril já é fabuloso, tem um pensamento participativo dentro do sistema perdendo os galhos inferiores permitindo que as outras árvores possam subir. Mas a sumaúma – Ceiba Pentandra – é muito melhor pois mantém uma grande distância, 3, 10 metros da próxima árvore embaixo e tem uma copa aberta horizontal. É a primeira da mata a perder as folhas e a última a estar com folhas novamente.
Os indígenas tem um sistema de plantar milho e feijão embaixo da sumaúma quando ela começa a perder as folhas.”

Hi Ralf,
That is really a gigantic tree trunk with an awesome formation. Nice and peaceful atmosphere and you have captured the mood perfectly. The symmetrical trees presents a fine effect and I like the surrounding very much. Excellent POV to capture this charming scene and very nicely composed. Kudos.
