I don´t know which species of snail is this... just
a
common garden snail. But the more intriguing point
about snail, in my opinion, is the locomotion.

Snails and slugs move by contracting and relaxing
muscles in the foot.

There are two sets of muscle fibers,each performs a
different task.When moving forward
one set contracts pulling the snail from the front
and
pushing it off toward the back.
At the same time the second set pulls the outer
surface of the sole forward.
Both halves can move seperatly,creating a sort of
pedallike locomotion.
Glands produce mucus which allows snails to move
over
rough or sharp material and crawl on vertical
surfaces.
It's also used for protection and navigation.Snail
trails are broken .

Carmem, Good shot of this snail. DOF and sharpness are OK. I would suggest to rotate it so that the snail is horizontal.
Please add a little note next time.

je suis assez d'accord, le mouvement vers le bas suggère une attitude négative, mais sinon c'est techniquement très bien réussi

Great detail in this work. 100% DOF, and a nice compo. I like the two tone stem of the plant it adds a nice touch. The snail looks very young, the shell is still thin? Great work. No note? Thanx for sharing.

Una composizione artistica e nello stesso tempo molto dettagliata, ambientazione azzeccata e soggetto molto interessante!

olá carmem, sou novo por aqui e nas minhas incursões pelo site me deparei com esta foto. Ela esta simplesmente fantastica! A composição, as cores a ntidez além da profundidade de campo fazem dela realmente uma foto fantastica. Parabens!
