Mamangava

Mamangavas also is known by mamangaba, mangangá, mangava, mangaba, abelhão, bombolini, wasp-of-roundup, sawfly.

They are solitary or social oversize and sufficiently hairy bees. They belong to some families and the sorts most common are Bombus, Eulaema, Centris, Xylocopa and Epicharis.

The majority is black and yellow and when they fly they emit a high humming. Mamangavas is polinizadoras important and contributes for the maintenance of many species of native plants. Mamangavas rare pricks, not to be that let us hold them with the hands.

Although to have the avantajado size they are extremely docile, making possible that let us observe them collecting the nectar and pollen of the flowers.

Its nests are found in the ground or in hollow of trees and some times of the year mamangavas they are observed in great amount.

As they are native and of great importance in ecosystems the Law in the 5197, of 03/01/67, Law of Protection to the Fauna establishes the prohibition of its use, persecution, destruction, hunting, or apanha.

Grande Thiago, esta é, para mim, sua melhor foto até agora. Ponto de vista muito bom; ficou ótimo esse "monstro" nos encarando bem de frente. Excelente nitidez, e levando-se em conta que você não utilizou flash, mais um ponto a seu favor.

Gosto muito do fundo desfocado, conseguido não sei se pela pequena abertura (f/3,5), se pelo trabalho no PhotoShop ou se por ambos. De qualquer forma, o fundo desfocado realça ainda mais a figura medonha.

Parabéns mesmo, Thiago. Percebo que nós do TrekNature teremos o privilégio de conferir outras belas fotos suas.

A very nice portrait of so black bee! I really like this species :)
According to technical aspects of photo: I like the DOF and POV, also a composition is nice. Only the BG seems to be not natural, but on the other hand it makes a good contrast beetles the insect and substrate.
