I was never much of a bird person, but he just sat there and and posed for me. I lacked a bigger lens. Taken in Campos do Jordao, 2hr drive from Sao Paulo capital.

Good shot. I like the pose. An opportunity not to be missed.

As Pam said, very opportune shot, not to be missed. The focus is a bit soft though. I might also suggest that you try and take the bird from the side. They look strange from the front, but that's just personal taste.

Wow, this is indeed a excellent capture...I love the contrasting colors, well done!

You are right, this is the right moment and you caught it well. Like you say, a bigger lens would have been nice. I also like the setting. I have tried a ws using a tighter crop and moving the flower/bird a bit out of the center (good old rule of 3rd's) hope you like it
