| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Growing from the mud at the bottom of ponds and streams, the exquisite lotus flower rises above the water with 15 or more oval, spreading petals, and a peculiar, flat seedcase at its center. The lotus flowers may be 8-12 inches (20-30 cm) in diameter and have a range color from red, pink, pale yellow to creamy white. A separate, long, tubular stalk supports each flower and each large round leaf. The flowers open for just three days. Then each petal falls silently into the water, one by one, at a short period. |

Hello Helcio. I am so glad you showed me a lotus pod in nature. We Chinese eat lotus seeds and lotus roots, and you can find the conical lotus seed pods in the Chinese supermarkets. However, I have never seen a pod on the flower. I finally know where it fits. Thanks for a beautiful and informative post. You captured the lotus with sharp details and perfect exposure. Excellent light and composition as well. Well done, and TFS. : )
Olá.
Simplesmente maravilhosa.

Parabéns

Helcio, você fotografa plantas muito bem. Aqui, mais uma prova disso.
Bela nitidez; belo contraste entre o assunto principal e o fundo.
