Robberfly.

Wikipedia.
Adult robbeflies attack other flies, beetles, butterflies, moths, various bees, ants, dragonflies, damselflies, some wasps, grasshoppers and some spiders.
The short, strong proboscis is used to stab and inject victims with saliva containing neurotoxic and proteolytic enzymes which paralyze and digest the insides; the fly then sucks the liquefied meal through the proboscis.

Size.
Small, about 1 cm long.

Approach.
It got still for enough time to let me take some close shots. I was looking for butterflies so this was an unexpected model.

Conditions.
At shadow of some trees, strong sunlight two meters ahead, flash off, no tripod.

Technical stuff.
Photographed in RAW, mirror lock-up on, EV -0,33, ISO 200, AI servo auto focus, auto white balance, Adobe RGB.

Hi Paulo . I like the golden / green colour to the Bg it makes for a warm picture. Also the eye level POV so we can see the insect side on. You were able to take this with fine detail and natural looking colours. well taken TFs.

Very attractive subject. Robber fly is looked perfectly on dry stem. Details of the main subject are superb as well as wonderful BG. Only it seem to me white balance is not absolutely exact. My best wishes and TFS.
