[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For me the Pantanal is one of the most beautiful bird-areas in the world. There are more than 650 bird-species. Here one of these:
The Blue-fronted Amazon (Amazona aestiva), also called the Turquoise-fronted Amazon and Blue-fronted Parrot, is a species of Amazon parrot and one of the most common parrots kept in captivity as a pet or companion parrot. Its name derives from the distinctive blue marking over its beak. The range of the Blue-fronted Amazon extends over Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and northern Argentina. Their talking ability is ranked third among birds when compared to African Grey Parrots or Yellow-naped Parrots. Males tend to be slightly more aggressive.
The status of this species is evaluated as Least Concern by BirdLife International. However, there is evidence of a population decline, and this species has been heavily traded.
These birds are not only excellent talkers but are proficient singers as well. These birds normally are not shy and will perform for strangers. Although these birds tend to be very interactive, they also tend to play with toys contently for several hours at a time. It is important to give your blue front plenty of toys, perches, and climbing room. As with other birds, under no circumstances are blue front parrots to eat avocado.

Hi Peter,
Wonderful shot with lovely colour tones and sharp details on its plumage. Superb lighting and neat focus to catch this fabulous pose here. The tree trunk acts as a fine BG and lets the Parrot stand out. I feel the OOF distracting head at the bottom could have been cloned out, but that is purely personal view. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.
