Near the Iguazu Waterfalls is a birdpark. There I photographed this bird of Brazil.
The Bare-faced Curassow (Crax fasciolata) is a species of bird in the Cracidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. (Wikipedia)
83 cm. Male with white belly and tail tip; yellow bill with black tip. Female barred upperparts and tail, chestnut belly, red legs, white eyebrow. Male of Amazonian race has reddish base of bill.
Voice a high whistle PSEEew; booms several paw-nnn, paw-nnn, initial p explosive, like other curassows. (All the birds of Brazil – Souza)

Another one I have never seen nor heard of. He looks like he just came out of a beauty parlor. The hair-do is fantastic. Wonderful details of the face and plummage. Good black!!

Wow great bird Peter and great portrait too ! It's very hard to shoot dark birds and managed it perfectly well. Great details in the plummage, good background and great eye contact. Well done my friend !
