Near a feeder I saw this bird. It was looking straight at me. I took a photo and on my computer I saw a strange thing: Does it have no eyes.. four eyes... does it wear sunglasses? You name it.

The Chestnut-bellied Euphonia (Euphonia pectoralis) is a species of bird in the Thraupidae family. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montanes.

11.5 cm. Male has chestnut belly and vent; yellow patches under wings. Female greenish; chestnut vent.
Voice: a loud, metallic shri, shri, shri; chew-lew; a harsh warble, sometimes with repeated imitations.

Funny! Really looks like it was wearing shades. Interesting color combo in the plumage, shown with great detail! Kudos! Cheers, Klaus

a wonderfull capture peter, the light on the plumage really shows the irridesense and colour of the bird, i like the pose and the fact that its not central in the frame.

Hi Peter, it looks as though it has goggles or skiing or diving! How starnge, maybe he closed his eye momentarily. It is a super bird with wonderful light and colours. Very well composed with good exposure and nice and sharp showing great detail in the feathers. Nice pov also.
