Hi Vera,
A very nice shot of this Papilionid, probably Papilio thoas. The tall stance on long legs is very well shown and the DOF has enabled almost all of the insect to be shown clearly. You can also clearly see the proboscis as the butterfly takes moisture and salts from the damp sand. Thanks for posting.

Sensacional registro!
Um belíssimo exemplar de Papilio thoas (muito bem identificado por nosso amigo Alan), sugando os sais da terra.
Essa borboleta é de uma beleza incomparável... prefere o néctar de flores perfumadas e do hibisco; os ovos são postos principalmente em plantas cítricas.
Parabéns pela qualidade fotográfica (enquadramento, nitidez, luminosidade, enfim, tudo excelente)!
