Another new one for TN. Although, in my ‘Merry Christmas’ photo, here on TN, I showed a sunset with two birds in silhouette. That were two Plumbeous Ibis.
The Plumbeous Ibis in this photo were walking in a swamp. I was walking on a bridge over the swamp. So the POV is a bit high, but lower wasn’t possible.

The Plumbeous Ibis (Theristicus caerulescens) is a species of bird in the Threskiornithidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland and pastureland.

73 cm. Dark gray. Elongated rear head feathers. Solitary. Perches on top of dead palm trunks.
Voice: Short, repeated resonant series of ‘ki-ki-ki…’; other birds may join in briefly just after start.

Hi Peter

Your south American bird shots are outstanding - and this is no exception. I also like the strong light - it really gives a good impression of the intense tropical light and heat. The pose ot these unusual ibis is good too.

Hi Peter,

It's always exciting to see new birds on TN. These two are wonderful in great poses. Looks like one is chewing the other's ear off babbling. Excellent details and colors on a very sunny day.

Jane

Hi Peter,
Just a note. Ibis is unvaried in number. One Ibis, two or more Ibis. Some use also Ibises and it not considered to be incorrect. Nice bird by the way.

Hello Peter, a wonderful shot of these strange looking birds. I must admit, Ive never seen this variety of Ibis before. Although the birds are facing away from us, I like that you waited to get the eye profile. The light looks difficult but you managed it very well. tfs Rgds Necip

Hi Peter.
Very nice and unknown for me bird at interesting surroundings. I like razor sharpness of the image, perfect its details and excellent composition. Only sunlight is too strong and some feathers areas are OE a little bit. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Peter,
Nice shot of this pair, I like all the green vegetation of the swamp that surrounds them. Difficult light, but you managed it well with good detail and DOF with both birds in.

Hello Peter, very good capture of those Ibis, nicely composed image, great background and very sharp details, there is a problem with the exposure but those were difficult conditions, thanks!
