O bastão-do-imperador é uma espécie de gengibre, com flores muito chamativas e vistosas. A folhagem é tipicamente tropical, com hastes longas e folhas largas e coriáceas. A inflorescência, que dá o nome a planta, caracteriza-se por apresentar brácteas róseas ou avermelhadas, com flores vermelhas e lábio amarelo, sustentadas por uma haste longa e robusta. Valoriza jardins tropicais e contemporâneos, plantado isoladamente ou em grupos. Floresce na primavera e verão.

I remember when I first saw this fantastic flower on Trinidad I couldn't believe my eyes!
They are so beautiful, large and colourful! Your capture is excellent, very sharp and the colours are natural and the composition excellent.
