Tarantula

Cientific name: Vitalius sp.

Family: Theraphosidae

Habitat: Forests

Geographic distribution: Southeast and Center-west of Brazil

Caracteristics: Its body is divided into two parts: cephalo-thorax and its abdomen has 4 pairs of paws.

Hatch: 1 to 5 months

Number of eggs: 170 to 200

Feeding: Small animals (insects/anphibians/rodents)

Curiosities: It changes its skins on growing
When adult after feeding, it can fast some months
When young, in growing phase, it eats almost incessantly, only stopping when around 10 days before its skin changes, 5 or 7 days after such change.

Warn: Though not poisonous, its bite causes intense pain

A very nice beast. It would have helped though if you had managed to use a smaller apperture to increase the DOF.

Nice shot of your Tarantula Marcos..Although your setting may not be the best, you have shown the spider well with good details.. I've had my out for one of these here in Texas bit have yet to photograph one..Well done.
