Bromelia

Bromeliaceae Juss é o segundo sistema APG II de 2003, uma família de plantas floríferas pertencente à ordem Poales, representada pelas bromélias (Bromelia sp.).
São quase exclusivamente originárias das Américas, principalmente das florestas tropicais, com apenas um gênero originário da costa da África Ocidental, no Golfo da Guiné. São aproximadamente 1.400 espécies em 57 gêneros. O gênero Ananas é muito cultivado na América do Sul para se produzir a fruta abacaxi. O gênero Bromelia é cultivado em todo mundo para o paisagismo de jardins.
As bromélias não são parasitas como muitas pessoas pensam. Na natureza, aparecem como epífitas (simplesmente apoiando-se em outro vegetal para obter mais luz e mais ventilação), terrestres ou rupícolas (espécies que crescem sobre as pedras) e compõem uma das mais adaptáveis famílias de plantas do mundo, pois apresentam uma impressionante resistência para sobreviver,com infinitas e curiosas variedades de formas e combinações de cores.

Hi Nilson,
Wonderful shot of this beautiful red flower and I like this colour contrasts of Red and Green. The shining leaves looks majestic and I like your top POV to portray it. Very neat and sharp image with perfect lighting. Very nice composition. Kudos.

I am having about 100 types of bromeliad in my own garden after collecting for almost 2 years now and they gives so much colour and enjoyment through them!
