| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A group of three young Burrowing Owls (Athene cunicularia), photographed on the grounds of a convent in São Leopoldo. It was mid-morning and, typical of the Burrowing Owl they allowed me to approach to within a few yards to photograph them. Most active at dawn and at dusk, it is not uncommon to see this species during the day as well, and usually on the ground. For more information see The Owl Pages website at http://www.owlpages.com/owls.php?genus=Athene&species=cunicularia
