Maracujá flower(from tupi mara kuya, "serving fruit" or "food on a plate"). The name of this plant, that produce a fruit, is Maracujazeiro and it's from Passiflora gener from Passifloraceae family. The plant is natural in tropical and subtropical areas of Amercia.

The name Passion Flower is about your shape and Christianism: crown of thorns, five sores and three nails that with Jesus Christ was crucified.

This shot was taken in a cloudy day and I use the flash to full filled the photo.

Hi Juliano

A warm welcome to the site and I hope you will enjoy your presence here on TrekNature and what better way to kick off then with such a dazzling photo. Wow, I have never seen anything like this before. This is a passionate passion flower and a lovely photo. You made good use of the fill-in flash however the shutter speed is still rather slow so I do presume you made use of a tripod or something sturdy to prop against in order to prevent camera movement. Just one last thought though, although this is a photographic site the first priority and mission remains to "Learn about nature through photography" and we cannot do that if you do not provide any notes with your posting. Please consider this in future and supply some notes that explain the shoot, or the subject, or the location where the photo was taken. That way you learn something, we learn something, and the general Internet viewer (visitor) learn something.

Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Welcome to Treknature - we especially love new members! This has an interesting point of view and I like it! The colors are vibrant and that's what caught my attention. I've never seen this flower before and am curious...can you add some notes so I know more about it? Thank you for posting and I'm sure you'll catch quite a bit of attention with this - rightly so!
