| After a long time, here I come back to the wonderful world of Treknature. This parrot I captured in town, Amazona aestiva, Blue-Fronted-Parrot or Papagaio verdadeiro in Brazil. What is fantastic is that these wonderful birds are coming to city areas. I can see groups of 4-6 parrots flying and resting around high trees where I live, I mean in a 1.5 million inhabitants city. This one I captured in a small town in rio Grande do Sul, but still in city area. They are still used like speaking pets, but preservation and ecological concern is now showing results. Many people now want to keep them wild, not capture them to cages. I myself felt like leaving some bananas in my backyard to see them getting off the trees...but I gave up after thinking that approaching to humans are still harmful to their freedom. I love to hear them cracking a loud sound at sunrise. Who had already approached to this birds know how clever and smart they are. I usually say that a border collie is fool when compared to their fantastic intelligence. |
