[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The unexpected part about this photo is that I used a macro lens in order to shoot it. My initial goal was to take pictures of insects. While looking for them, this hummingbird came by. I could take some eight shots of it. Although they usually don’t allow us to get too close, this one was an exception.

The original file is a RAW one. Since I used f/2.8, the maximum aperture I can get through the lens, the speed was a high one: 1/3200. By using such settings, I was able to freeze the movement of the wings – and that was my intention. ISO 200 was used in the capture.

Hello Livio , Exelent capture - very well composed , Greetings Teunie ,And a Very Good 2009 .

Saludos
Hernán

Hi Livio,
what a great shot of this beautiful Hummingbird.
Very sharp and clear.
Great pose.
Excellent colours.

Superb work!

Happy New Year!

Joe

hello Livio

Very good choice of f/2.8 for the shallow bokeh yet you are able to get good focus sharpness on the bird in flight especially to freeze the wings motion at f/3200s.

I quite like the bokeh to give the blur green of BG so effectively for the contrast in color.

Really nice to see the sharpness of the bird and flower that helps to draw my eye attention to it.

tfs, bill
